Christian Bjursten Carlsson has over twenty years of professional experience as a consultant, senior advisor, and director for risk, human factors, and system safety-related assignments in engineering and research projects. He holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering supplemented with psychology and human factors studies at Lund University. In addition, he is a Boeing 737 pilot and flight instructor with ample operational experience.
Between 2003 and 2007, Christian worked as Department Head at Lund University and as a principal lecturer in Human Factors. From 2007 to 2010, he was the Human Factors Director at Entry Point North and part of the executive management team. During this period, he was involved in a development project on managing escalating situations in safety-critical operations, a joint project with Lund University.
From 2010 to 2013, Christian worked for Lloyd´s Register with human factors projects across industry sectors such as nuclear, railway, process industry, and energy. He was involved in a research project in the nuclear industry evaluating existing applications and guidance on methods for Human Reliability Analysis. In 2013 Christian founded Tapora AB, a consultancy company providing solutions for organizations to better cope with system complexity to improve safety and productivity.
